Your recipe for a perfect roast goose

You need:

  • 1 goose (approx. 5 kg)
  • salt, pepper
  • 2 apples
  • 2 onions
  • 1 orange
  • 1 leek
  • 1 tablespoon dried marjoram
  • 500 ml chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons butter


Here's how:

  1. Prepare the goose: Wash the goose thoroughly and pat it dry. Season it generously inside and out with salt and pepper.
  2. The stuffing: Cut the apples, onions, orange and leek into large pieces. Mix everything with the marjoram and stuff the goose with it.
  3. Into the oven: Place the goose breast-side up in the preheated super roasting pan. Spread small pieces of butter on the skin. Put the roasting pan in the oven (approx. 180°C).
  4. Patience is required: the cooking time depends on the weight of the goose. Allow about 20 minutes per 500 grams.
  5. Keep it juicy: Pour the broth over the goose regularly while it is roasting.
  6. Finish with a crispy finish: At the end of the cooking time, increase the temperature and briefly grill the goose until crispy.
